Yamaha FS-700S

Everything that was said about the Yamaha FG-700 can be said about it's slightly smaller cousin, the
Yamaha FS-700.  This is a great choice if you want a something slightly smaller than a dreadnaught.  Yamaha calls it a Folk sized guitar.

Guitar Sizes

Guitar are made in a number of shapes and sizes.  Some folks prefer a larger body guitar which tends to be capable of generating more volume.  Other folks prefer smaller bodied guitars, which may be more comfortable to hold and play.

The dreadnought size is probably the most popular, it's the size and shape most folks picture in their mind's eye when the envision a guitar.

Yamaha FG-700S



You just can’t go wrong with a Yamaha guitar.  They represent an outstanding value, they play well and sound great.  One model that is a particularly good value is the FG-700S.  You can buy a new one for $200, used ones can regularly be purchased for $150, sometimes less.   If you buy a used FG700, you can always sell it without a problem, probably for what you paid for it. The FG-700S is a full sized dreadnaught.

Epiphone Hummingbird

I recently picked up a used Epiphone Hummingbird and have been totally impressed by it's playability and sound.  This guitar is available in the $175 - $200 range used, brand new goes for about $300.  It comes in several different versions.

So you've always wanted to play guitar ....



You’ve always wanted to learn to play guitar.  However you don’t have a couple thousand dollars sitting around to buy a real guitar that isn’t a toy.  The good news is - you don’t have to spend a small fortune to purchase a good playing, excellent sounding guitar.

There are a number of quality instruments that can be purchased brand new for under $200.  The same guitars can often be purchased for closer to $100 if you buy a used guitar.  Sometimes if you are lucky or patient, you can find a great used guitar for well under $100.
